Belize City

I planned to spend the next few weeks traveling Belize. I had no plans except to see Mayan ruins, explore caves, snorkel, and swim. First stop, Belize City.



The inner city is bit run down. Most people use Belize City as jumping off point to other destinations further inland.

Baron Bliss of Buckinghamshire, England, left most of his 1 million pound fortune to Belize without ever having set foot on the country back in 1926. An annual national holiday is held on March 9th in celebration of his memory.
